Produced from top quality Barke 2-row spring barley, Weyermann® Barke® Munich Malt brings forth enhanced body, rich malt dark-beer aromatics, and a strong malt flavor with notes of honey and biscuit.  This heirloom German Munich malt, like the other Barke Line malts possess excellent process characteristics.  They are easy to work with in the brew house, having  great efficiency and filtration characteristics.  The strong malt flavor and classic characteristics make this the specific base malt for original Munich Dunkels.  Also suitable for pale, amber, and dark lagers and ales, imperial pilsners, dark beers, “Schwarzbier”, “Festbier”, Bock Beer, Octoberfest styles, Belgian Dubbels, “Kellerbier”, Stouts, and Munich Dunkels.  Feel free to use it for anything!

Famous for roasted malts, the Weyermann family traces its roots back to 1510 and has been in the grain business since 1871. The trademarks Carapils® and Caramünch® were registered around 1908. During WW2 the Potsdam portion of Weyermann was destroyed by bombs and the subsequent Russian occupation. All their East German business was lost as well as their equipment. All the Weyermann family survived the war except one brother lost on the Eastern Front. After the war, Rudolf and Carl Weyermann in West Germany were suspended from the Company due to de-Nazification. Today, Weyermann is a team of 240 highly motivated and well-trained staff members who ensure that you will always receive nothing but true Weyermann quality. Sixty staff members hold diplomas or advanced degrees as professional brewers, maltsters, brew masters or brew engineers. Weyermann produces over 80 different types of malts that are distributed to 135 different countries.
