THIS HOP IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE.  Polaris is one of the new wave hops from Hüll in Germany. It is known for being a monster in the Alpha Acid department at levels sometimes exceeding 20%. Commanding incredibly high alpha acids, Polaris features elements of spice, pine and intense mint alongside a strong and lusty fruity floral aroma. It is a pungent hop with a super high oil content.  Expect intense and lingering impressions of wintergreen, pleasant fruit notes, with a Hallertau-like sweetness and herbal note. Can exhibit a pungent, exotic spice flavor early in fermentation. Said to have some fruit flavor, the most common reported flavor is spicy mint. The mint flavor is best described like the flavor in a glacier mint candy. You may think twice about a mint flavor in your beer, but customer feedback is that the mintiness is not overwheming or a negative and actually adds depth. We would love to hear your thoughts!

Origin: Germany. Released in 2012, Polaris is part of the new wave of “flavour hops” released by the Hüll Institute. With typically very high alpha acid levels and high oil content, Polaris makes its presence known in IPAs, Brettanomyces fermentations, and Belgian styles. Use a base malt with enough character to stand up to it! Aroma & Flavor Characteristics: Intense and lingering impressions of wintergreen, pleasant fruit notes, with a Hallertau-like sweetness and herbal note. Can exhibit a pungent, exotic spice flavor early in fermentation.  All hops are packaged in oxygen, light and moisture barrier bags.
