Here’s the DIY Do-It-Yourself guts to build your own gravity fed carbon filtration system.   Charcoal filtration is a fast and easy way to filter your hooch for smooth flavor and pleasant aroma.  If you are doing sugar-only fermentations this will improve your shine no end!  Picky customers?  Use the EZFilter and no more pinched noses while they swill it down.  Seriously if you are getting ‘cat box’ aroma off your stuff you can fix it fast with charcoal filtration! 

The EZ Filter system is specifically designed for the maximum purification of alcohol or water.  Fast, clean and easy to use!  This is the bare filter body with one filter included.  Simply add a tap to your bucket and connect some tubing that runs into the filter, and a way to catch the output.  You will need tubing, clamps, and a bucket or something with a spigot to build the system.  Replacement cartridges sold here by the each and by the 5 pack at a delivered cost of less than $4 each.

Fast, clean, easy to use. One replacement cartridge for EZ Filter System or EZ Inline Filter, specifically designed for the maximum purification of alcohol or water. The cartridge eliminates the need to handle powdered or granulated carbon. The cartridge’s porous design allows the spirit or water to pass through and the unwanted flavours or chemicals are absorbed by the activated carbon. It is fast, clean, and easy to use. Each cartridge is suitable for one batch of alcohol from a 25L still or 300L of water. Works with the EZ Filter bucket system or the EZ Filter inline filter.

The EZ FILTER System carbon filter system contains a specially formulated filter cartridge with no powdered granules making it easier to use. This filter is ideal for filtering inexpensive homebrew hooch to prepare it for use with the Still Spirits flavorings.

INSTRUCTIONS:  First run about 2 gallons of water to remove any carbon dust or recirculate if you are filtering water. Now fill the top bucket with your spirit diluted to 40% alcohol or your water. This system filters 3 liters of hooch in about 20 minutes and water about twice that fast. Each cartridge will filter approximately 10 liters of 40% alcohol or 300 liters of water. One carbon filter cartridge is included with the filter body.
