FLAKED RICE 1lb

Provides more fermentables without increasing body and flavor.  Lightens the body and color.  More importantly, it increases crispness of a beer. Commonly used in American and Japanese lagers. Use as you would any other brewing grain.  Flaked and pregelatinized so you can skip the whole cereal cooking and steeping needed before using whole rice.  Just dump it into your mash at desired amount.  The flakes have a larger surface area than grocery store rice and since they are pre-cooked, hydrate and disintegrate quickly.  Better than food quality rice that will cause starch problems and unreliable (lower) specific gravity.  Flaked rice is made especially with brewing in mind.
