Add to mash for unique rye spiciness.  This here grist is on many good bourbon-style mash bills.  A part of any great rye whiskey.
Adds body and head retention.  Brings  a crisp and slightly spicy character with flavor notes of wintergreen and spice, without adding too much body or mouthfeel.  Because flakes have a large surface area and are pre-cooked, they hydrate and disintegrate quickly. Filtration time will be normal.  This product will be shipped direct to your door from the nearest stocking distributor warehouse.  In many cases it will arrive a day earlier than sacks shipped from our Carbondale store.  Local customers see same item “Store Stock”.

Description

Pregelatinized rye flakes have been produced specifically for brewing, developing characteristics necessary for easy and efficient use. The process of gelatinizing makes the starches readily soluble and digestible by the naturally occurring enzymes in barley malt. This allows the flakes to be incorporated directly into the mash with other grains.  Can be up to 10% of grist, up to 40% as a cereal adjunct to create Rye Beer.
