BLACK RACKING CANE CLIP 3/8″ SPRING CLAMP – Holds cane tube steady during siphon hose operations

$3.25

Here’s a handy little clippy deal to hold your racking cane steady while you siphon your clear beverage off of the gunk in the bottom.  This little black spring clamp fits what is commonly called a 3/8″ size racking cane and will hold it steady on a bucket, kettle, kettle or carboy.  It will even hold your bottle filler while you arrange more empty bottles to fill.  Some images still show the discontinued red clamp, the black clamp is used in the same ways.  This is the high quality black clamp that says “Vintage Shop” on it, not the easily breakable Chinese copy.

Description

We make beer and wine ourselves and know that there is nothing so annoying as to wait weeks for your brew to clear and at the last minute when you are inserting the cane the flexible hose whips around and causes the cane tip to stir up the sediment!

To use the device clip it about halfway up the cane, put the cane halfway in the liquid and then gently clip it to your bucket, kettle or carboy.  Relax the hose and start your siphon into the secondary.  When it is running good, slowly and gently push the cane downwards until the intake is just above the sediment.   Voila!  You set your cane where you want it and it pretty much stays there.  A variation, wedge the fermenter so that the deepest part is where your siphon tip will be.

There is one picture I want to add a comment to, the one showing the clip on a glass carboy.  You don’t have to clip it over the glass a shown…  It will dangle just fine by itself, wedging into the mouth of a glass carboy.
