This is a replacement AUTOMATIC thermal cut off switch for the Grainfather G30 OR T500 Boiler. This is the most common point of failure for most electric boilers. When the switch is blown your unit won’t heat. The Grainfather G30v3 auto reset switch avoids the need to manually reset the system to ensure homebrewers can easily resume their brew day if an unexpected reset is required. The switch is made to sense temperature and cut off power at around 125C (257f) when the boiler is almost empty. This NEW MODEL switch will reset itself automatically will work on the original Grainfather and you don’t need to push the button underneath any more. Just let it cool and the switch will reset itself.

From Hobby Homebrew: There may also be a fuse to check continuity on. It looks like a thick place on the wire.
From Brewnosers: Grainfather stopped working, and we figured out that it was a problem with the thermal switch (which is there to prevent you from running it without any liquid). So we took out the switch and connected the wires with electrical tape, which solved the problem for a few brews – but then it stopped working again… (Not recommended, just get this switch!)
