Description
Yakima Quality Hops developed Elani™ as experimental hop known as YQH-1320. First discovered as a wild hop in Silver Valley Idaho, its parentage remains unknown. Genetic testing has shown it to be unique among hops. Due to the high yield YQH speculates that miners at a nearby Silver Vally Idaho mining camp brought them from the old country and were brewing their own beer in the wilderness. The midrange alpha and high total oils make this an easy hop to brew with by itself or with other hops.
Brewing Application: Clean, bright, and slightly spicy, Elani performs well in all IPA styles, both on its own and alongside other hop varieties. Pale Ales, Golden Ales, Wild Ales, Wheat Beers, Fruit Beers, and Saisons all stand to benefit from further explorations with Elani.
