Mosaic (HBC 369) is a US born and bred hop known for its pronounced complexity in aroma and flavor.  Strong impressions of citrus oil, balsam pine, blueberry, peach and tropical fruit.  Notable mango character, but also shades of lime and mandarin orange.  Hence the name ‘Mosaic’.  A daughter of Simcoe and a Nugget-derived male, it is sometimes called a ‘Super Citra’.

Description

MOSAIC:   Aroma hop.  A complex array of tropical fruit, citrus, berry, herbal, earthy and pine characteristics. Typical Alpha Acids 11.5 – 13.5%, Beta Acids 3.2 – 3.9%.  Daughter of Simcoe®, Released in 2012 by the Hop Breeding Company LLC.

Breeding/Development: USA. Known as HBC 369 until its release in 2012, Mosaic® is a new variety from the Hop Breeding Company, LLC. It is a daughter of Simcoe and a Nugget-derived male.

Brewing Application: Mosaic® is often compared to an amplified Citra®, with which it shares a respectable alpha content but a highly-desired oil profile as well. This unique oil profile makes it most commonly used for flavor and aroma. Its exotic, fruit-laden bouquet lends itself well to American-style IPAs, saisons, wheats, and Brettanomyces-fermented beers.

Because demand is higher than supply, this hop may be out of stock for extended periods. It cannot be restocked until the following season’s crop is received. Please plan for your brewing needs accordingly. Purchases are limited only by the stock on hand.
