Description
Centennial Hops celebrate what beer is all about. The typical US Ale Hop. Named after the Washington State Centennial festival this variety was developed by the USDA in 1974 and has a usual alpha acid rating of 8.5%-11.5%. It is like Cascade but headier and lighter on the citrus aromas. Centennial works well in Pale Ales and India Pale Ales, where bitterness is needed with a top end aroma. The floral flavor and aroma of this variety is notable in many commercial beers.
