Here’s a two ounce factory nitrogen foil pack of dual-purpose Chinook hop pellets from Yakima Chief, formerly YCH Hops.  Chinook is a high alpha bittering variety with aromatic characteristics.  Slightly spicy and very piney. Commonly used in IPA’s.  When dry hopped in the last few minutes of the boil adds a wonderful herbal almost smoky aroma.  The flavor/aroma is spicy and unique, with a huge following of loyal fans.

Description

Chinook:   Released in 1985 in Washington State and Idaho from a cross between a Petham Golding and a USDA-selected male (63012M). Good substitute for bittering: Eroica, Galena, Nugget. Good substitute for aroma and flavor: Southern Cross, Sticklebract. Alpha acid content ranges from 12 to 14%  This hop is found everywhere, including India Pale Ale, Winter Ale, Pale Ale, Porter, Stout, Lager, Barley Wine, American Lager, and American Ale.
