Premium Quality Twin top Corks. This winery grade cork starts out similar to other first quality corks, but the agglomerated center has a natural cork fused on the top and bottom of the cork to give an extra layer of protection. This will give your wine extended life when it is stored correctly. (Bottle on its side to keep the cork moist). We have seen the same corks claimed to preserve wine as long as 10 years. Real cork on both ends so it doesn’t matter which end goes in first.
An Agglo cork (Agglomerated) is a cork that is composed of many small pieces that are pressed and adhered together. As the quality of cork has declined many wineries have begun to use alternative corks, such as synthetics or these agglomerated corks to insure a good seal in their wine. These corks offer the assurance of a good seal while at the same time allowing the breathing properties that solid corks offer. Agglomerated corks work best with floor corkers as they are hard to put in with hand corkers (they do not compress as much.)
