Here’s an upgraded standard size TWO PIECE 1/2″ NPT SS 304 WOG 1000 FULL PORT LOCKING BALL VALVE for home brewers and distillers.  This valve is cast from high quality corrosion resistant 304 Stainless Steel and is perfect for brew kettle, mash tun, or sparge water operations.  These 1/2″ Female NPT x 1/2″ Female NPT ball valves are fitted with tight, long lasting seats and seals that will not leak even after many years of frequent usage.  The seals are PTFE (Teflon) and offer excellent corrosion resistance. Stainless Steel & PTFE work well together in applications including alcohol, WOG (Water, Oil, Gas), biodiesel, and fuels as well as light alkalis and acids.

Description

We had to order from several manufacturers before we found a really nice ball valve.  It seems to be of much better quality than the usual run.  First there is the appearance – these valves are nice and shiny, not dull grey.  More importantly, the 1/2″ female NPT threads are cleanly cut so your 1/2″ attachments will fit easily and seal tightly.  When turning the handle, action is tight but not difficult. All the manufacturers claim quality control but in these ones we are not finding the usual casting defects encountered from other sources.  This valve is cleanly cast and nicely machined from high quality corrosion resistant 304 stainless steel, perfect for brew kettle, mash tun, or sparge water operations. 
FITTING NOTE:  Food safe Teflon pipe tape is required for leak-free seal on all NPT fittings.
