Works up to 14% ABV, great for whiskey, rum and other spirits where you’d like the grain flavor identity maintained. If you are using a reflux still you would need to remove the packing or just use DADY (see other items!).
This is a stackable industrial yeast, you can continue to re-pitch this yeast up to 8 times to create alcohol in larger batches. Can be used to ferment up to 53 gallons! Just leave a couple inches of the clearest sludge in the bottom and fill it up with your fresh unfermented recipe mix!
LIQUOR QUIK™ Batch Turbo Yeast (14% ) produces extremely small amounts of volatiles for more run between cuts. This product is especially good to ferment larger batches, because it works hard without overheating the fermentation. Makes 25 liters (6 USG) 90 grams (3.04 oz.) You can actually unstack this product by using half a pack as directed for a full pack. This will produce an even better tasting product at half the yeast cost. It just takes longer!
DIRECTIONS: To make 25 liters (6.5 USG) Pour 25 L (5.5 gallons) of warm water (40°C/104°F) into your fermenter. Add 6 Kg (13 lbs) of table sugar to produce 14% alc/vol. Mix well until the sugar is completely dissolved. Add the yeast and stir for one minute. Do not seal the fermenter airtight as the resulting CO2 will need to escape. Leave to ferment between 20-25°C (68-77°F); optimum temperature is 25°C (77°F), until fermentation ceases (about 3 days) Complete fermentation times are temperature dependent. For best results, clear with LIQUOR QUIK™ Super-Kleer K.C.™ before distilling. For multiple sized batches over 25 L, use 6 Kg of sugar per yeast package. E.g. to make 200 L (53 USG) use 48 Kg (105 lbs) of sugar.
