HERSBRUCKER:  (GERMANY):  A delicate aroma hop used mainly in lagers and mild ales.  A preferred substitute for any of the noble hops, especially Saaz, Mittelfrüh and the parent Hallertau.  Hersbrucker Hops are world renowned for the finishing touches on German and Bavarian style Lagers and Pilsners, and have also found their way into Hefeweizens, Dunkles, Bocks, and Kolsch, anywhere you want an added element of fruit and more dominant spice component.  You will love these hops!  Excellent clean flavor and aroma. Hersbrucker Hops haves a low co-humulone level and are closely related to the noble hop varieties. It is a definitive aroma variety with an alpha acid rating of 2.0%-4.0%. Hersbrucker Hops are versatile and are used in a great number of German style beers. Hersbrucker essential oils are in balance and the floral character mixes with fruit and spice.

Traditional land-race variety originating in the Hersbruck Mountains of Franconia Hersbrucker was a natural selection and has developed into the variety with the largest acreage grown throughout the Hallertau, Spalt and Hersbruck Regions due to it’s resistance to Verticillium Wilt.  Generally harvested late in the season.
