|~ MUNTONS NUT BROWN ALE BEER INGREDIENT KIT ~|
Made from a careful balance of wheat and barley malt, this is a crisp refreshing, a distinctive beer with great head! Rich roasted malts, caramels, hazelnuts, and a hint of dates, with a light touch of chocolate. This can is larger than many of our other kits, containing a full 4 lbs of hopped LME.
Makes 5 gallons!
Here is the fastest easiest way to get into home brewing! With this tinned extract kit you just mix, brew and bottle This is a NO-BOIL kit but you do heat some water. You don’t need much equipment, just a bucket, carboy, stirrer, syphon, bottles, and bottling gear. The instructions are easy to follow. The tin contains a thick malt syrup that you warm so that it will pour into 9 liters of warm water (2 gallons + 6 pints). All necessary ingredients are already in the syrup including the hops. Complete directions and a packet of yeast are included under the lid. Each can is a complete mix and makes 5 gallons – about 40 pint glasses!. This type beer is very expensive in stores and the beer you make from this kit will be much better than all but the most expensive brands!
Munton’s Connoiseur’s Nut Brown Ale reminds me of Samuel Smith’s Nut Brown Ale, probably because of the UK origin of this kit. I have made many Nut Brown kits over the years and unless you are doing all-grain, this is the one!
Munton’s Nut Brown Ale has a very thick, spongy, off white, crackling head you can practically stand on. Tawney brown appearance. The aroma is strong and pungent: Rich roasted malts, nuts, of course, and banana bread. This is a very flexible kit, you can make it right out of the can, but the instructions suggest 2lbs corn sugar for higher alcohol content. We think that makes it a little cidery, so you could substitue common cane sugar with some improvement. After you make this kit the recommended way, try using brown sugar and let me know what you think… Should be very nicely nutty! You could also substitute dark DME Dry Malt Extract for the sugar.
Try to let it bottle condition for at least 4 weeks, and then cold storage for a couple more. Hide a few bottles from yourself for a few more weeks and you will be amazed.
You won’t have to wait to get started tho I ship ZERO DAY via Priority Mail.
