Description

Galaxy is most highly desired for its aromatics. This dual-purpose hop has become a favorite for pale ales and IPAs because of its big peach aroma, subtle citrus notes and undertones of passionfruit and mango.

Huge oil content with pungent citrus and passionfruit flavors. Amazing in hoppy pale ales and IPA’s. We can only buy so much and our supplier has to contract for it years in advance so be sure to pick some up when it is in stock!

Breeding/Development: Australia. The preeminent Australian hop, Galaxy™ arose from breeding programs in the 1990s with ancestry that includes German Perle. It was released in 2009 and has seen very high demand ever since.

Brewing Application: Aroma and dry hop. Although it has adequate alpha content for bittering additions, Galaxy™ shines when used as an aroma and flavor hop – the later the better for flavor intensity. Its powerful tropical fruit character is at home as a feature in American Pale Ale and IPA, Wheat Beer, Saison, and Brettanomyces-fermented beers.
